Are you having a family day out? Bring the kids earlier in the day so they can enjoy Splash Park. The splash pad is located on the Dawn P. Gober Plaza, just above The Bowl with tables, umbrellas, and plenty of turf to spread out a picnic blanket. While you dry off, grab an ice cream cone from Scoops and hang around downtown before the concert begins.
Night out with friends? Take advantage of the SHINE District. Purchase an alcoholic beverage from Cantina Loca, Central City Tavern, Indio Brewing, or the Sugar Hill Distillery and ask for a SHINE to-go cup to take your drink anywhere within the SHINE District. You’ll be able to enjoy your food and drinks on the Promenade and West Broad St. without having to worry about finishing your drinks before you get to The Bowl.
Going on a date? Check out the latest exhibits at the Sugar Hill Art Gallery and History Museum. The exhibits at the History Museum include photographs, documents, and memorabilia that highlight the community’s churches, schools, gold mining and moonshining history. While the Art Gallery casts a spotlight on an eclectic mix of changeable featured works and travelling exhibitions from artists. Pack a picnic before you leave the house and spread your blanket out on the Plaza before stepping down into The Bowl for a night filled with The Mavericks’ rich musical paella.
One visit to Sugar Hill and you’ll find a week’s worth of activities and exploration, so start planning your concert weekend now.
